Former Germany international Dietmar Hamann has shared his thoughts on where Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen could end up next, Afrik-Foot reports.
Hamann is of the opinion that a move to Liverpool looks unlikely for the Super Eagles forward while Newcastle United may be a better fit.
The former Manchester City and Bayern Munich midfielder believes the current situation at Liverpool makes it difficult for the Nigerian striker to break in. Under manager Arne Slot, the club already has strong options in attack.
“Liverpool already has two players in that position, so nothing will happen there for Osimhen,” Hamann explained as per Fanatik.
Liverpool’s forward line is currently led by Hugo Ekitiké and Alexander Isak, with Cody Gakpo also able to play through the middle. This depth means there is little room for another high-profile striker, even one with Osimhen’s quality.

Hamann, however, was quick to praise the Super Eagles star. He highlighted the qualities that have made Osimhen one of the most talked-about forwards in Europe.
He said: “However, he has pace, power, and clinical finishing.”
Those strengths, Hamann believes, would suit Newcastle’s style much better. The club has been rebuilding its attack after major changes in recent seasons, and there could be space for a striker like Osimhen to become the main man.
Hamann added: “If Newcastle United sells Nick Woltemade, Osimhen could be a perfect fit for them.”
At Newcastle, the departure of key forwards in recent years has left a gap for a consistent goalscorer. While players like Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa have contributed, the club is still searching for a striker who can lead the line at the highest level week after week.

Hamann surprised by Osimhen’s move to Turkey
Hamann also spoke about Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray last summer, admitting he did not expect the striker to end up in Turkey.
The Nigeria international joined Galatasaray for a record transfer fee when top clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool were reportedly interested.
He said: “I couldn’t believe Osimhen transferred to Turkey. I was truly surprised that no English team signed him.”
The German added that many Premier League clubs were in need of a striker at the time, which made the move even more puzzling.
Hamann explained: “Last summer, almost everyone had a problem at the center-forward position.”
Despite that surprise, Osimhen has continued to impress on the pitch. His performances have helped Galatasaray stay competitive, and he remains one of the most dangerous forwards in Europe.

Hamann did not hold back in his praise, describing the Nigerian as a player who can change games on his own.
He said: “Osimhen is an extraordinary player. The reason Galatasaray is performing so well in the league is likely because of him. I enjoy watching him.”
Looking ahead, Hamann believes the striker would have a big impact if he eventually moves to England.
He added: “I believe if he played in the Premier League, he would significantly strengthen whichever team he joined.”
With interest from clubs across Europe, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain. But if Hamann is right, Newcastle United may be the club best placed to make the most of his talent.
