Man Utd seek cheap Wilfred Ndidi reinforcement as they prepare Victor Gyokeres assault

Wilfred Ndidi is the subject of interest from Manchester United.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the English giants are keen on a move for the Nigeria international, who is available for the knockdown price of £9 million as a result of Leicester City's relegation from the Premier League.

The 28-year-old was one of the few bright spots for the Foxes in a dismal 2024/25 campaign that saw them amass only six wins and a measly 25 points from 38 matches.

Why do Man Utd want Wilfred Ndidi?

The midfielder, who joined Leicester City midway through the 2016/17 season, has accumulated over 200 appearances in England’s top-flight. At that price point, he would make for a decent pick-up for a number of Premier League clubs.

Manchester United are believed to hold an interest in Swedish striker Victor Gyokeres, who could cost upwards of £80 million. Without the filip of European football, the Red Devils must also be mindful of Profit and Sustainability (PSR) regulations, and so splurging on the Sporting striker would have repercussions on their transfer warchest.

Wilfred Ndidi, with his experience and proven record of performance, would make for a smart purchase.
