“Give am” – Marseille talent and two Super Eagles stars react as Joseph Opoku demands MOTM award

Ghana and Zulte Waregem winger Joseph Opoku has sparked reactions from Victor Boniface and other Super Eagles stars after a hilarious post-match interview, Afrik Foot reports.

The 20-year-old was criticised in Waregem’s 2-2 draw against Cercle Brugge, as he wasn’t as involved, mustering just a shot on target in 90 minutes.

He then took the criticism on the chin and turned up with a brilliant performance against Benjamin Frederick’s FCV Dender EH, scoring two goals.

Super Eagles stars react to Opoku’s interview

In his post-match presser, the Ghana U-20 attacker asked the reporter for his man of the match award, prompting a laugh from fans worldwide.

The interviewer asked him what scoring two goals meant to him and how he felt, but Opoku went straight to business.

“First of all, where is my man of the match award,” the 20-year-said, per DAZN.

“I’m very happy because last week, I got a lot of criticism after the chance I missed, and as a player, that kept me going.

“I kept calm and scored two goals, so I’m happy to bounce back. It’s my response to those who made fun for me.

“I already know I’m a top player, so I just gave them a feedback, a big middle finger to all of them,” Opoku concluded.

Boniface, on his Instagram page, left a comment on the post – “Make una give am man of the match award oooo😂”, which translates to “Give him his man of the match award.

Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika also commented, but focused on the young Ghanaian’s mentality, saying “Top player, keep their mouths shut”.

Marseille’s Tochukwu Nnadi also did the same, reiterating Onyedika’s point, “As a Top player 🥶”.
