Millwall, Fortuna Sittard, others battle for Osimhen-like German-Nigerian talent

Nigerian youngster Lukas Uchenna Heavens is approaching a very important point in his career as he prepares to sign his first senior professional contract this summer, Afrik-Foot reports.

The 17-year-old forward, often compared to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen because of his playing style, is quickly becoming one to watch ahead of the transfer window, and his next move could play a major role in shaping the direction of his career.

The youngster first caught attention during his time at the academy of Borussia Dortmund, but has since moved on from the club and is currently maintaining his fitness with German lower-division side ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen. 

After committing his international future to Nigeria over Germany, Heavens is expected to feature for the U-20 team in the near future, with hopes of eventually breaking into the senior national side as a long-term option in attack.

Where could Osimhen-like Heavens end up in the summer?

Several scouts across Europe have identified Heavens as a promising talent, and several clubs are now competing to secure the services of the young forward, who was first brought into the spotlight by renowned Nigerian scout Samuel Aloga.

Dutch side Fortuna Sittard is among the clubs interested and willing to offer him the chance to train with their first team this month, with a professional deal potentially on the table if he impresses.

Meanwhile, Millwall is closely monitoring his progress and may consider a move during the summer transfer window.

Other clubs, such as Twente and Volendam, are also showing strong interest in signing the 17-year-old, ready to compete for his signature. 

A move abroad would see Heavens join the growing list of Nigerian talents making their mark in Europe, and if his development continues on this path, he could well emerge as one of the next big names in Nigerian football.
