Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has been one of the standout players for Nantes this season with his performances in Ligue 1.
Despite a difficult campaign, Nantes sit 14th in the 18-team table, just one spot above the relegation zone. They have Simon to thank for keeping their survival hopes alive.
The Nigeria international has been a key creative outlet for the team and currently leads the Ligue 1 assists chart. He has also chipped in with seven goals and nine assists as Antoine Kombouaré’s side continue their fight to stay up.

Simon’s form has not gone unnoticed. In France, both Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon are reportedly monitoring the 29-year-old, while there is also interest from England, with Everton said to be keeping tabs on him ahead of a possible move.
With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2026, Nantes find themselves at a crossroads.
Simon signed an extension two seasons ago, but the club may now need to offer him a significantly improved deal or risk losing him for free next year.
The uncertainty over his future comes at a tense time for the club, who are still battling relegation with just a few games left.

The winger remained coy, insisting he is focused on the present and happy at the club.
“Nantes is a great club. I am happy here,” Simon said. “I like everyone — the supporters, the city. Everything is going well.
“Now we just have to win the match against Toulouse and stay up.”
Nantes are currently 14th on the Ligue 1 table with 31 points from 30 games, with four matches left to secure their top-flight status.
