Moses Simon MVP performance delivers first Paris’ Ligue 1 win in over 3 decades

Moses Simon shone again for Paris on Sunday, registering both a goal and an assist in their 3-2 victory over Metz. That makes it three direct goal contributions in three games for the Super Eagles winger.

The 30-year-old lasted the full 90 minutes, first teeing up Ilan Kebbal for Paris’ second in the 52nd minute, then stepping up to score what proved to be the winner 15 minutes later.

With two goals and an assist so far this season, Simon is now Paris’ second most productive player, just behind Kebbal.

In four appearances during the 2026 qualifying series, Moses Simon has managed just one assist. His club form, however, suggests he could yet tilt games for Nigeria when it matters most.

Nigeria welcome Rwanda to Uyo on September 6, followed by a trip to Bloemfontein to face South Africa three days later. Camp opens September 2, with Simon expected to report in strong form.
