Nigerian forward Moses Usor is moving closer to his first-ever Super Eagles invitation after helping LASK win the 2025/26 Austrian Bundesliga title and complete a historic domestic double, Afrik-Foot reports.
LASK sealed the league crown on Sunday afternoon after a dominant 3-0 victory over Austria Wien at the Generali Arena in Vienna. The result ended the club’s painful 61-year wait for a top-flight title, with their last league triumph coming back in 1965.
The Linz club had already lifted the Austrian Cup earlier in the month after beating SCR Altach 4-2 after extra time on May 1. That success completed a famous league and cup double and turned this season into one of the greatest campaigns in the club’s history.
Usor was one of the biggest reasons behind the achievement. The 24-year-old finished the season with 15 goals and ten assists across all competitions, including 13 strikes in the Bundesliga.

Although he did not score in the title-clinching win over Austria Wien, his movement and pressing constantly troubled the home side’s defence. LASK manager and supporters praised the winger’s energy and ability to create space for teammates throughout the campaign.
LASK’s title run became even more impressive because they had to overcome the traditional dominance of Red Bull Salzburg and Sturm Graz during the Championship Round.
A major turning point came on May 10 when LASK defeated Salzburg 2-1 at the Raiffeisen Arena. Earlier in April, they had also secured a dramatic 3-2 away victory against Salzburg, a result many supporters viewed as the moment they truly believed the title was possible.

Moses Usor’s Super Eagles dream moves closer
Usor’s brilliant season has now reportedly pushed him into the plans of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming Unity Cup tournament in London and June friendlies against Poland and Portugal.
The Nigerian winger has impressed scouts with his versatility this season. He operated on the right wing, as a second striker and occasionally behind the main forward line, giving LASK several tactical options during the title race.
Usor also delivered in the biggest moments of the campaign. In the Austrian Cup final against Altach, he scored an important equaliser after LASK fell behind early. The goal changed the momentum of the match before the team eventually won 4-2 after extra time.
He was equally decisive during the tense final weeks of the Bundesliga season. Usor scored key goals against Sturm Graz and TSV Hartberg as LASK held off pressure from their rivals to stay top of the table.

Winning the Austrian Bundesliga also means LASK will play in next season’s UEFA Champions League. That development could further strengthen Usor’s chances of becoming a regular member of the Nigerian national team, as the Super Eagles coaching crew continue searching for players competing regularly at Europe’s highest level.
Usor was not the only Nigerian involved in LASK’s remarkable campaign. Nigerian-eligible striker Samuel Adeniran scored the penalty that made it 2-0 against Austria Wien in the decisive title match, while former Nigeria youth international Emmanuel Michael and midfielder Adetunji Adeshina also played supporting roles throughout the season.
However, this campaign may prove to be the breakthrough moment that finally opens the door to the Super Eagles for Moses Usor. After helping LASK end a 61-year wait for league glory, the Nigerian attacker now appears closer than ever to wearing the green and white shirt for the first time.
