Nigeria Under-20 international Daniel Daga has been sentenced to six months in prison by the Nordmøre and Romsdal District Court in Norway, Afrik Foot reports.
This came after the 19-year-old was convicted of getting involved in a sexual act without the consent of the other party.
The former Enyimba midfielder, who represented Nigeria at the U-20 World Cup, will not feature for his club until further notice as the judicial process continues.

The verdict on Daniel Daga
The ruling was released on Tuesday afternoon, with Daga also ordered to pay 10,000 Norwegian kroner (about 1.45 million naira) as additional cost as a form of punishment.
However, the sentence is not yet enforceable as the player has filed an appeal through his legal representative, meaning the case will be taken further through the Norwegian justice system.
Molde Football Club initially barred the youngster from training and all club activities after the suspicion was raised two months ago.

The club have now confirmed the development in an official press release, stating: “The player has, through his defender, notified an appeal of the ruling. The case is therefore not enforceable, and it will be dealt with further in the justice system.”
The club added that Daga would remain unavailable for selection in the meantime. “This is a very demanding matter for everyone involved,” Molde wrote, as revealed by VG Live.

Daga’s case now moves to the next stage of the Norwegian court system as his appeal is processed.
