Edo Queens, the Nigerian Women's champion, are set to compete in the prestigious 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League finals, which kick off this weekend in Morocco.
The team, comprising 25 players and accompanied by 11 officials, will depart for Morocco, aiming to make history as the first Nigerian club to claim the coveted title.
Edo Queens earned their place in the continental tournament by winning the Nigerian Women’s Premier League, which automatically qualified them for the WAFU B zonal competition.

In a dominant display at the WAFU B tournament, Edo Queens finished at the top of Group B, showcasing their prowess with nine goals scored without conceding a single goal.
Their journey included an impressive 5-0 victory over AS Garde from Niger, followed by a 3-0 win against Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies, and a final 1-0 triumph over Omnisport Etincelle, sealing their spot in the semi-finals.
In the final match, they overcame Benin’s Ainonvi FC with a convincing 3-0 scoreline, securing their position in the CAF Women’s Champions League finals.
Where and when will the 2024 CAF Women's Champions League be held?
The competition will take place from November 9 to 23 in Morocco, with matches scheduled across the cities of Casablanca and El Jadida.
Edo Queens find themselves in a challenging Group B, where they will face off against top African side Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies from South Africa, CBE FC of Ethiopia, and FC Masar of Egypt.
