Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been named in the Sofascore Turkish Süper Lig Team of the Week for Gameweek 23, Afrik-Foot reports.
Ndidi put in a top performance for Besiktas last Sunday as they thrashed Goztepe 4-0 at the Tupras Stadium.
The Super Eagles skipper, who had just returned from his father’s burial ceremony in Nigeria, was thrown straight into the starting eleven and delivered immediately.

Ndidi opened the scoring with a towering header from a corner kick. Following his opener, goals from Michael Murillo, Junior Olaitan, and Hyeon-Gyu Oh sealed a comprehensive victory for the Black Eagles.
Asides from his goal, Ndidi’s defensive and transitional stats were elite. He recorded a 75% pass accuracy, seven successful carries, three tackles, four interceptions, three clearances, and three recoveries.
Also, he dominated the physical battles, winning 11 out of his 14 duels. According to Sofascore, the former Leicester City man earned a 8.2/10 rating, the highest of any player on the pitch.

Following his standout display against Goztepe, Ndidi has been officially recognized in the Süper Lig Team of the Week.
The Super Eagles captain features in a star-studded midfield alongside the likes of Junior Olaitan, Matteo Guendouzi, Orkun Kökçü, and Florent Hadergjonaj.

Interestingly, Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu failed to make the cut despite scoring for Trabzonspor against Gaziantep last weekend.
