A few Nigerian players were involved, albeit none of the was really the center of attraction. There were two major cases from yesterday, and we will give you the update on some of those deals below.

Philip Otele Linked To Lazio

Super Eagles attacker Philip Otele was in the news on Transfer Deadline Day. He has been linked to several clubs in Europe and the Middle East. But as of yesterday, he was heavily linked with a transfer to Serie A club Lazio.

The Italian side need quality in the final third, and the Nigerian was a top target. But the negotiations with Basel fell through ultimately. Otele has two years on his contract, so he is expected to stay in Switzerland. Read more here.

Femi Azeez Seals Major Brighton Move

Super Eagles attacker Femi Azeez has completed a transfer to English Premier League club Brighton. Azeez was one of the best players in the Championship last season with Millwall, as he registered 11 goals and seven assists in 37 league appearances. That earned him links to clubs like Aston Villa, Hull City, and Ipswich Town.
