NPFL Golden Boot race: Current top scorers of 2026-27 Nigeria league season?

The 2026-27 NPFL Golden Boot race will be one of the fiercest in recent seasons of the Nigerian football league.

Clubs are scoring goals for fun with over 200 goals already scored by the 20 clubs after the first ten matchdays.

Abia Warriors striker Chukwuemeka Obioma currently sits atop the 2026 NPFL goalscorers chart with 6 goals.

His 6 goals have come from seven matches and 630 minutes played. He also has one assist, zero yellow card and zero red card.

Obioma has scored six of the nine goals Abia Warriors have managed in the league this term. His most recent goals came as a brace in the 3-0 win over Bendel Insurance.

Last season, Obioma finished with 11 goals from 28 matches, three fewer than eventual NPFL Golden Boot winners Victor Mbaoma and Godwin Obaje, who both finished with 14 goals.

The former Enyimba and Heartland forward is followed on the NPFL Golden Boot chart by Rilwan Sadiq of Doma United and Ranchers Bees’ ace Rabiu Zulkifilu, both on five goals.

Reigning NPFL champions, who were dumped out of the CAF Champions League by MC Alger, currently have no player in the top ten of the NPFL goalscorer chart.
