Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has received a special award from the Premier League for reaching 100 appearances in the competition, Afrik-Foot reports.
Aina made his 100th Premier League appearance in Nottingham Forest’s 3-1 loss to Leeds United on February 6. He played the full 90 minutes for the club, though he could not help them avoid defeat.
Nonetheless, Aina had cause to celebrate, as it marked his 100th appearance in the English top flight. He has accumulated these games through his time at Chelsea, Fulham, and now Forest. In fact, 66 of his appearances have been for the Tricky Trees.

This is a significant feat for the 29-year-old right-back, and he has been sharing pictures on social media of himself celebrating with friends.
Then, on Tuesday, he took to social media again to display the special award he received from the Premier League to commemorate the milestone.

The Premier League is the biggest and richest league in the world, and many Nigerian players dream of playing in the competition. Unfortunately, not many get to play at all, let alone make 100 appearances.

Amid the excitement of reaching his 100th Premier League appearance, Ola Aina finds himself in a difficult situation with Nottingham Forest.
The Tricky Trees currently sit 17th in the Premier League, just three points above West Ham, who occupy the 18th spot in the English top flight.
Going into the final 12 games of the campaign, Nottingham Forest are in serious danger of dropping to the Championship, which would be disastrous.

Aina recently signed a contract that will keep him at the City Ground for two years, so it would be heartbreaking if Nottingham Forest were to go down.
Nonetheless, given his quality, it is unlikely that he would stay with the club if they were to face relegation.
