The forward played a pivotal role in the opening goal, providing the assist for Varesanovic’s header in the 10th minute, which found the back of the net. Moments later, Olawoyin was brought down in the box by Rakoczy, earning Çaykur Rizespor a penalty.
Jurecka converted the spot-kick in the 14th minute to give the hosts a commanding 2-0 lead.
Ankaragücü fought back in the second half, with Yusuf Emre Gültekin’s free kick striking the upper right post in the 61st minute.
In the 77th minute, Ankaragücü reduced the deficit to 2-1 when Coelho capitalised on a corner kick from Mesut Emre Kesik, but Çaykur Rizespor held firm to secure the win.
