Osimhen: Where Super Eagles star ranks among most valuable strikers in the world

Published on by

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has enjoyed a remarkable rise in his football career and is ranked among the most valuable strikers in the world, Afrik-Foot reports.

The 27-year-old has made a stunning start to the 2026-27 season with Turkish champions Galatasaray, scoring four goals and providing one assist in just two matches and has continued the form that has established him as one of Europe’s most sought-after marksmen.

However, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, with several clubs still interested in signing him before the end of the transfer window to strengthen their attacks, although nothing has materialized so far.

The Super Eagles striker, who recently moved into third place on Galatasaray’s all-time foreign goalscorers list, continues to attract interest, with Arsenal emerging as the most likely destination for now, while Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are also monitoring his situation.

Where does Osimhen rank among the most valuable strikers in the world?

According to Transfermarkt, which calculates player market values based on factors including age, performances, statistics and other market considerations, Osimhen is ranked as the 20th most valuable forward player in the world.

However, when the rankings are narrowed down to centre forwards, the Nigerian striker ranks eighth in world football.

Osimhen is also ranked as the third most valuable African footballer in the world, behind Yan Diomande, who is valued at €90 million, and Antoine Semenyo, who has a market value of €80 million.

The Galatasaray star is also the most valuable Nigerian footballer in the world and the most valuable player in the Turkish Super Lig.

Who ranks above Osimhen among the world’s most valuable strikers?

Osimhen is valued at around €75 million, placing him eighth among the most valuable centre forwards in world football.

The Super Eagles forward has built a reputation as one of the best goalscorers in football and has further strengthened that reputation with a stunning 63 goals in 76 appearances for Galatasaray.

While his €75 million valuation ranks him highly, seven players are currently ahead of him among centre forwards.

Manchester City and Norway striker Erling Haaland is the most valuable striker in the world, with a market value of €220 million. He is followed by France and Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe, who is valued at €200 million.

Argentine forward Julian Alvarez ranks third with a market value of €120 million. His future has also been linked with Osimhen’s this summer, with a move for one player potentially influencing the situation of the other.

Alexander Isak is fourth at €85 million, the same valuation as Inter Milan and Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez. Hugo Ekitike and Joao Pedro complete the top seven, with both forwards valued at €80 million.

Osimhen then comes in at eighth with a €75 million valuation.

The Super Eagles forward will be hoping to continue his stunning start to the season when Galatasaray return to Super Lig action against Goztepe on Saturday.
