Arsenal make Victor Osimhen bid: Galatasaray’s 3 possible outcomes

Victor Osimhen’s future could still become a major story before the summer transfer window closes, Afrik-Foot reports.

Galatasaray have already rejected a €130 million approach from Al-Hilal and president Dursun Özbek has made his position clear. The Turkish champions do not want to sell their star striker.

But Arsenal are a different kind of threat. The Premier League champions have discussed Osimhen’s availability with Galatasaray, and the Barcelona-linked Nigerian has a long-standing dream of playing in England.

The question now is what happens if Arsenal return with a huge offer?

Scenario 1: Galatasaray say no again

This is the most likely outcome. Özbek said in June that Galatasaray did not sign Victor Osimhen to sell him. He was asked whether a €150 million offer would make the club negotiate. His answer was clearly that the club wants the striker to stay for many years.

That position has only become stronger after Osimhen’s start to the new season. The Nigerian scored four goals and provided one assist across Galatasaray’s opening two matches. The club believes he can produce an even better campaign after having a full pre-season.

Last season, Osimhen scored 22 goals and made eight assists in 33 appearances. He also helped Galatasaray win the Turkish title. Galatasaray’s thinking is simple. A productive Osimhen could help them win more trophies and attract an even larger offer next summer.

Scenario 2: Arsenal make an offer Galatasaray cannot ignore

Arsenal have until 1 September at 23:00 BST to complete Premier League transfers. The Gunners have already discussed Osimhen’s availability. Reports also say their talks with Galatasaray included Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, creating the possibility of a player-plus-cash proposal.

A huge cash offer would put Galatasaray under serious pressure, even if Özbek does not want to sell.

There is also a second problem: Osimhen. The Super Eagles striker has publicly said that playing in the Premier League is his dream. In 2023, he said he was working hard to make that ambition happen.

The Nigeria international could, therefore, convince Galatasaray to let him leave and fulfill his dream of playing in the English top flight.

Scenario 3: Victor Osimhen stays and becomes Galatasaray’s main weapon

If Arsenal cannot break Galatasaray’s resistance, Osimhen will lead the Turkish champions’ attack. That could be good news for the Turkish giants.

Galatasaray paid Napoli €75 million for Osimhen in July 2025 and gave him a four-year contract. His deal includes a €15 million net annual salary, a €1 million loyalty bonus and €5 million per season for image rights. He now has the chance to build on his first two seasons in Istanbul.

There is another reason Galatasaray are confident. Osimhen missed part of last season’s preparation and also dealt with injuries and international commitments. The club believe a full pre-season and no Africa Cup of Nations tournament this season could allow him to play more matches and produce more goals.

Arsenal can make the story complicated, but Galatasaray currently hold the strongest hand. Their former Lille striker is under contract until 2029, they have already rejected two huge Saudi offers and Özbek has repeatedly said he does not want to sell.

Yet Osimhen’s Premier League ambition means Arsenal cannot be dismissed. If the Gunners return with a proposal that satisfies Galatasaray and gives Osimhen the chance to fulfil his long-held English football dream, the situation could change quickly.
