However, Besiktas had other plans, taking control early in the game.

Rafa Silva opened the scoring in the 29th minute, putting Besiktas ahead as they dominated possession.

Osimhen had a chance to respond, but his header went over the bar as Galatasaray pushed for an equaliser.

The task became even more difficult for the league leaders when Przemysław Frankowski received a red card, reducing them to ten men.

Despite the setback, Galatasaray found a way back into the match when Lucas Torreira netted to level the score.

However, Besiktas regained their lead in the 66th minute through Gedson Fernandes.

The game saw further drama when Semih Kılıçsoy was also sent off, leaving both teams with ten men.

Despite late pressure from Galatasaray, Besiktas held firm to secure the crucial victory.

The result hands Galatasaray their first loss of the season and keeps the title race wide open as the competition intensifies.
