Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has named two of the toughest defenders he’s faced in his football career, Afrik Foot reports.

The 27-year-old helped his side to the Turkish Super Lig triumph with a brace against Antalyaspor two days ago.

After the game, Osimhen was quizzed about the toughest defenders he’s faced in his career, and he revealed Calvin Bassey and Tottenham United defender Cristian Romero are top of the list.

While he’s never played against Calvin Bassey in a professional fixture, the former Napoli striker revealed the Fulham defender is a tough nut to crack in training.

“I’ll say Calvin Bassey. In training, that guy is very strong,” Victor Osimhen said.

“I think currently, that guy is the best defender in Africa, and of course, one of the best in the English Premier League.

Osimhen played against Romero in the Serie A when the Argentine defender was still at Atalanta, and he admitted the World Cup winner is a beast on the pitch.

“Romero, he’s actually a very intelligent defender. He gave me a hard time when we met.

“I’ve face World class defenders, but the hardest are those two I’ve mentioned,” the 2023 CAF Player of the Year concluded.
