Galatasaray transfer news: Top 4 elite signings that could convince Victor Osimhen to stay

Published on by

Galatasaray are preparing an ambitious transfer window as they try to convince Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to remain in Istanbul for the 2026/27 season, Afrik-Foot reports.

The Turkish champions want to build a stronger squad capable of challenging in the UEFA Champions League after another successful domestic campaign.

According to respected Turkish transfer expert Burhan Can Terzi, Galatasaray’s board has promised Osimhen, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, that the team will be stronger next season. Club commentator Levent Tüzemen also said the club’s leaders assured the Super Eagles star that they would improve the squad to match their European ambitions. Atlético Madrid-linked Osimhen scored seven goals as Galatasaray reached the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 12 years.

Terzi revealed that Galatasaray are working on signing a ‘world-class star’ whose quality could even surpass Osimhen’s reputation. However, he ruled out Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes as the mystery player, saying the club is pursuing another elite footballer whose identity has not yet been made public.

The Istanbul club has already shown how determined it is to keep its top scorer. Reports claim Galatasaray rejected offers worth between €120 million and €125 million from Atletico Madrid, an unnamed European club and a Saudi Arabian side. The Turkish champions are also believed to value Osimhen at between €140 million and €150 million, while Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain continue to monitor his situation.

Osimhen, despite missing Galatasaray’s first few days of preseason training, has remained calm despite the transfer speculation. Reports say he recently held talks with coach Okan Buruk about the club’s pre-season plans and is fully focused on preparing for the new campaign rather than pushing for a transfer.

Osimhen: World-class targets who could strengthen Galatasaray

Galatasaray’s transfer plans suggest the club wants to surround Osimhen with more top-quality players. One of the biggest names linked with the Turkish champions is Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard. Turkish journalist Selman Ozturk reported that Galatasaray are making a serious effort to sign the 27-year-old midfielder, whose creativity and vision could provide even more chances for Osimhen in front of goal.

Another major name on the club’s radar is Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne. The experienced Belgian midfielder has been linked with Galatasaray through Transfermarkt reports. Even at 35, De Bruyne remains one of the world’s best creators, and the passing ability of the Napoli ace would give the club another level of quality in midfield.

Galatasaray are also looking to strengthen their attack. Terzi reported that Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani is among the club’s preferred targets. The French international’s pace, movement and UEFA Champions League experience could form an exciting strike partnership with Osimhen.

Another striker under consideration is Colombian international Jhon Durán. The powerful forward has impressed with his physical style and eye for goal, making him another player capable of sharing the scoring burden with the Nigerian star.

Beyond those four names, Galatasaray are also rebuilding other areas of the squad. With the potential departure of Gabon midfielder Mario Lemina, the club has been linked with Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika, while highly rated Real Madrid youngster Franco Mastantuono is another player reportedly being tracked.

If even some of these transfer plans become reality, Galatasaray could enter the new season with arguably the strongest squad in Turkish football. More importantly, such signings would show the club’s determination to persuade Victor Osimhen that his future in Istanbul can include both domestic success and a serious challenge in the Champions League.
