Spanish giants FC Barcelona are one of the top clubs lining up a move for Club Brugge of Belgium player Raphael Onyedika.

According to local reports in Spain, the Catalan side are pressing really hard to add the Super Eagles midfielder to their squad.

Barcelona would have to beat several other top clubs who are currently monitoring Onyedika's progress.

The 22-year-old featured regularly for Club Brugge this season since he joined the Belgian outfit from Danish club, FC Midtjylland.

He was also part of the Super Eagles squad that won silver at the recently-concluded Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast.

At 22, Onyedika was the youngest player in Jose Peseiro's squad. He scarcely featured for Nigeria at AFCON 2024, only managing to come on as a late substitute in a 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau in the group phase.

Raphael Onyedika transfer news: Club Brugge stay adamant

The Nigeria international who has been touted as one of the future stars of the Super Eagles team will be turning his attention back to club football.

Just last month, Club Brugge rejected a substantial offer from Galtasaray for the services of the midfielder as a bid of €15 million was turned down insisting that there plans are to keep him for a longer period.

The Turkish side had initially requested to pay €3 million in a loan move, with a €12 million permanent deal at the end of his loan spell.

Before the AFCON, Onyedika had featured for Club Brugge 18 times in the First Division A this season, indicating that he was a very important player to the side he joined two years ago for a fee in the region of €6 million.

Valentine's day joy for Onyedika

On the flip side, the 22-year-old who recently returned to his club after the AFCON campaign with Nigeria made the headlines only a few days ago after he was recently spotted indulging in some last-minute shopping for his lover.

In a video shared by his Super Eagles teammate and Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface via Snapchat, Onyedika could be seen in the lingerie section of a store carefully selecting wears that would make the perfect gift for the mystery woman.

Reports in Spain also suggested that the Catalan giants are also targeting Amadou Onana who is currently with Everton FC in the Premier League
