Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare continued his impressive form for Belgian side Genk, scoring in their dominant 3-0 victory over Sporting Charleroi in the Jupiler Pro League.
The forward, overlooked by Nigeria for the recent 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda, once again showcased his quality, leading the line from the start and playing a pivotal role in securing the win.
After a goalless first half, Genk’s persistence paid off in the 77th minute when Arokodare found the back of the net, finishing off a well-timed assist from Patrik Hrošovský.
Six minutes later, Jarne Steuckers doubled the advantage, consolidating Genk’s dominance.
In the 90th minute, substitute Noah Adedeji-Sternberg, a player of Nigerian descent, completed the comprehensive victory with a well-taken goal, rounding off an excellent team performance.
Arokodare has been one of the standout Nigerian forwards this season, emerging as a leading contender for the top scorer award in the Belgian top flight.
With nine goals and three assists in 14 league matches, the 24-year-old continues to build his reputation as a reliable and clinical striker.
