Rio Ngumoha: Alex Iwobi tells NFF why they must get Liverpool talent by all means

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has expressed his admiration for Liverpool’s teenage sensation, Rio Ngumoha, Afrik-Foot reports.

​Over the last few years, there has been a significant rise in the number of world-class young talents in football. In the English Premier League, two names stand out: Rio Ngumoha and Max Dowman.

​Having faced Ngumoha when Fulham played Liverpool recently, Iwobi admitted that while he previously held Dowman in high regard, the Liverpool whizkid left him in awe.

​”Before, I would have said Max, but after playing against Rio this weekend… Rio is a handful,” Iwobi said.

​The Race for Rio Ngumoha’s International Allegiance

​Interestingly, Rio Ngumoha is of Nigerian descent. Born in England to Nigerian parents, he is eligible to represent England, Nigeria, and even France.

While he has already begun playing for the English youth setup, talks regarding a potential switch to Nigeria have intensified. A talent of his caliber would undoubtedly be a massive asset for the Super Eagles.

​Iwobi’s testimonial shows just how gifted the youngster is; for a veteran of Iwobi’s standing to wax lyrical about a teenager is no small feat.
