Terem Moffi: Super Eagles striker in dilemma as FC Porto make transfer decision

Published on by

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi will return to OGC Nice after his loan spell with FC Porto, Afrik Foot reports.

The 27-year-old joined the Dragons from the French side in the winter transfer window after a clash with the club’s hierarchy and a physical altercation with some of the fans.

Moffi played 15 games for Francesco Farioli’s side, scoring just two goals, but also lifted the Liga Portugal title.

FC Porto decide against signing Terem Moffi permanently

Porto included an option to buy in Moffi’s loan contract for €8m, and while they wanted to keep him permanently, they weren’t willing to pay that fee.

FC Porto decided to engage OGC Nice in a conversation to reduce the transfer fee, but the French side refused to budge.

According to the French outlet L’Equipe, both sides were unable to reach an agreement, and as such, Moffi will return to Allianz Riviera.

However, Moffi’s contract with OGC Nice runs out next summer, and the club could be forced to part ways with him, as there’s very little chance of a renewal happening.

Porto also confirmed they’ll be parting ways with Luuk de Jong, whom they signed last summer.

Moffi, meanwhile, played a crucial role in Nigeria’s 2-0 win against Zimbabwe in the 2026 Unity Cup semi-final and will be looking to put Jamaica to death on Saturday.
