Sevilla face Super Eagles injury worry ahead of Barcelona clash

Super Eagles attacker Chidera Ejuke is a doubt for Sevilla ahead of their crucial weekend clash against Barcelona, Afrik Foot reports.

The 28-year-old fleet-footed winger has scored just one goal for Matias Almeyda’s men in the La Liga this season.

However, that goal came in Sevilla’s 4-1 win over the Catalan giants earlier this season, just before the October International break.

Akor Adams was on target in Sevilla’s 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano last weekend, but Ejuke was only able to play 23 minutes, coming off the bench in a bid to help Los Rojiblancos change the game.

Sevilla have been on a poor run of form in recent weeks, winning just two of their last ten league games.

They’ve now been dealt another blow, after it was confirmed that the former Hertha Berlin winger might not feature in the crunch clash against Barca.

As per Mundo Deportivo, Chidera Ejuke was absent in training today and has been nursing a specific discomfort for a while.

However, he was able to do some exercises, although he was away from the pitch. The club will now wait to see if there’s an improvement in the coming days to determine whether or not he’ll feature against Hansi Flick’s side.

Sevilla are currently 14th on the La Liga table, six points above the relegation spots, while Barcelona are four points clear at the top of the summit.
