After backing his teammates to give their all in their remaining games till the end of the season, Super Eagles defender Ryan Alebiosu walked the talk against Sheffield United, Afrik Foot reports.

Blackburn Rovers needed to win at least one of their remaining two Championshp games, and Alebiosu, before the clash, gave some inspirational words to his teammates.

“Every point is so valuable,” the Super Eagles defender said in an interview with the Lancashire Telegraph.

“We need everything we can get to survive. It’s a good point even if we were so close to three.

Alebiosu: Super Eagles defender stars in Rovers win over Sheffield

Yuki Ohashi broke the deadlock for Michael O’Neill’s side inside 12 minutes, finishing into the bottom right corner after a brilliant through ball from Ryoya Morishita.

Sheffield came close to levelling the scores twice through former Manchester United midfielder Tahith Chong.

However, Blackburn beat all that pressure with Ryoya Morishita putting the ball into the back of the net after a brilliant combination with Yuki Ohashi.

Alebiosu turned provider just before half-time. His brilliant cross was headed home by Okashi to seal his second goal of the game for Blackburn Rovers.

Harrison Burrows pulled one back for Sheffield United, but it was only a consolation goal for Chris Wilder’s side.

Tonight’s win assured Blackburn Rovers of Championship safety, while it was a dead rubber affair for Sheffield United, who had just pride to play for.
