Super Eagles centre-back Calvin Bassey faces an important season ahead as he looks set to yet again lead Fulham’s challenge in the Premier League, Afrik-Foot reports.

The 2025 Fulham Player of the Season winner, Bassey has become one of the first names on the team sheet at Craven Cottage after another strong campaign. That is unlikely to change even with former Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa taking over from Marco Silva, the coach who brought Bassey from Ajax to England.

Bassey remains under contract with Fulham until June 2027, while the club also holds the option of extending his stay by another year. He currently earns around £45,000 per week, while his market value is estimated to be nearly €30 million.

Although Bassey recently featured in Fulham’s launch of their new away kit for the 2026-27 season, his future continues to attract attention across Europe. Serie A champions Inter Milan have already made enquiries about signing the Nigerian international.
