Rangers centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez made his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday, but his elder brother has attributed his growth to a divine hand, Afrik Foot reports.
The 24-year-old’s rise has been nothing short of impeccable, moving from Sky Bet League One side Peterborough straight to Rangers.
With the Scottish giants, the England-born Nigerian has played in the UEFA Europa League.
Altogether, he’s scored five goals for the club, despite being a defender, and recently, made his international bout in the Green and White colours of Nigeria.

Emmanuel Fernandez’s brother speaks on Super Eagles call-up
Joseph Fernandez, one of Emmanuel’s elder brothers, is in awe of his brother’s rapid rise, moving from being clubless years ago to being sought after all over Europe.
“To be honest, I had no doubt he would make it to a high level, but the speed with which he’s done it, since 2020, has been amazing,” he said in an interview with Rangers TV.
“Our eldest brother took us to the park, running till we felt like we’d vomit. He told us what we needed to make it, and in all fairness, it worked. Where Emmanuel is now is because of the days when we were younger.

“He always believed in his quality the same way I did. I’ve always known he had an extraordinary ability.
“He made it, and we all did as well. It’s happening so fast, it’s God’s work to be honest.
“Not so long ago, he didn’t have a club; now he’s played for Rangers and has been called up to the national team. It’s just blessings upon blessings. I’m happy for him, I can’t even put it into words,” Joseph concluded.
