Super Eagles target George Ilenikhena continues to face uncertainty over his future this summer, with Hull City now the latest club to show interest in a move for the young forward, Afrik-Foot reports.
Ilenikhena began his career at Amiens in France before moving to Royal Antwerp, where he continued his development and emerged as one of the brightest young forwards in Belgian football.
His performances earned him a move to AS Monaco, where he further established himself as one of the most promising youngsters in European football. Although he attracted interest from several clubs during his time at Monaco, Ilenikhena eventually moved to Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad during the winter transfer window.
However, the Nigerian forward struggled to get regular playing time and also had to adapt to a new environment during his first few months at the club and has since been linked with a move to Spanish side Sevilla.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ilenikhena has already started the new season in impressive fashion, scoring three goals in his first three games.
According to new reports, newly promoted Premier League side Hull City have joined the race for his signature, and there are several reasons why the move could work well for the Nigerian forward.
Ilenikhena’s pace would suit Hull City’s style
One of Ilenikhena’s biggest strengths is his pace, and that could make him a good fit for Hull City’s style of play.
The young forward is quick on the ball and capable of running in behind defenders, qualities that could be particularly useful in the Premier League, where teams often look to transition quickly from defence to attack.

Hull City showed in their 2-0 win over Manchester United in their opening league game of the season that they can hurt opponents on the counter-attack. If they continue to use that approach, Ilenikhena’s pace and ability to exploit spaces behind defenders could make him a valuable attacking option.
His ability to beat defenders would also give Hull another dimension in attack, while his movement and willingness to link up with teammates could help him fit into the team’s system.
The 20-year-old has already made an impressive start to the campaign, and that confidence could help him settle quickly if a move to Hull City materializes.
Super Eagles target’s experience in top-flight leagues
Another factor that could help Ilenikhena flourish at Hull City is the experience he has already gained despite his young age. At just 20, the Nigerian has played in Belgium, France and Saudi Arabia, giving him experience of different leagues, styles and footballing environments.
He has also already competed at a high level in European football and has several achievements and records to his name. That experience could help him handle the demands of Premier League football better than his age might suggest.
A move to Hull City would also provide Ilenikhena with another opportunity to play regularly and gain valuable experience in one of the biggest leagues in the world.
Regular Premier League football could increase his visibility and potentially strengthen his chances of earning a call-up to the Super Eagles under head coach Eric Chelle, with Nigeria preparing for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled to commence next month.

However, Hull City would still need to meet Al Ittihad’s valuation of the player and beat the other clubs interested in his services before they can complete a deal.
If they succeed, Ilenikhena could have an opportunity to take the next major step in his development and prove himself in the Premier League.
