Tolu Arokodare’s Breaks Records With Ajax

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare was unsung for Ajax on Thursday, as they thrashed FC Midtjylland 6-1 in the UEFA Conference League. The former Genk man struck twice in the 9th and 52nd minute, before supplying the assist for Owen Wijndal’s goal.

Davy Klaassen and Marcos Leonardo completed the scoring for the Godenzonen. Of course, the 6-1 win came with multiple broken records.

According to Opta, it was the fourth time that Ajax scored six goals in an away continental fixture and the first time that Midtjylland were conceding six goals in an official game.

Also, for the first time in history, Ajax scored five goals from a corner kick in a single European campaign. Arokodare was responsible for it, as his first goal was off a corner from Oscar Gloukh.
