Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi could be on his way out of Marseille this January depite his impressive performance against Angers on Sunday.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined Les Phocéens from Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem in a €6 million deal during this year’s winter transfer window. The initial plan was for him to ease into the squad before developing into a regular first-team starter.
However, playing time proved hard to come by during his first half-season at the club, as he made just eight appearances. Roberto De Zerbi was at the helm when Nnadi arrived, but following the Italian’s dismissal and Habib Beye’s appointment, the midfielder’s status became uncertain.

Amid managerial instability and boardroom turmoil, reports suggested Nnadi was no longer central to the club’s plans and could be loaned out or sold.
Although he stayed put through the summer transfer window, Nnadi had only featured four times so far this campaign. However, he produced an interesting display for the club on Sunday.
Super Eagles: How Nnadi Performed Against Angers?
Nnadi produced an impressive performance for Marseille as they defeated Angers 5-2 at Stade Raymond-Kopa. Due to injuries to some key members of the Marseille team, Nnadi got a rare start.
The 23-year-old midfielder registered two key passes, 58 touches, three defensive contributions, and won five of the duels he was involved in.

It was the best individual performances that Nnadi has had since his Marseille move, and that will definitely give coach Bruno Genesio a reason to give him a place a constant place in the starting eleven.
Why Marseille Could Offload Tochukwu Nnadi
Despite Nnadi’s brilliant performance against Angers on Sunday and his potential, fresh reports have stirred the pot once again, signaling that Marseille could look to offload Nnadi in the upcoming January window.

According to reports from Get French Football News, Marseille face scrutiny from the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG) after failing to meet financial requirements in June.
To avoid sanctions, the club must balance their books before June 2027. Failure to comply could result in points deductions or, in the worst-case scenario, administrative relegation. Consequently, Marseille may be forced to sanction player departures to raise capital.
Nnadi emerges as a prime candidate for a sale. Four of his last five appearances have been off the bench, which means that the coach believes that he is not indispensable.

The Super Eagles star should not be short of suitors across Ligue 1, Belgium, or elsewhere in Europe. He is known for his high work rate and tactical versatility across the midfield. That said, because he has yet to establish himself or hit top form in France, interested clubs might be reluctant to meet a high valuation.
A temporary loan move cannot be ruled out either, particularly if Marseille fail to attract a suitable permanent bid.
January promises to be a key period for Nnadi. Whatever happens, the midfielder must prioritize regular playing time at this stage of his development.
