Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has been on fire at Panathinaikos since returning from injury this season. He has contributed five goals in his last four games across all competitions.

However, fresh concerns have emerged about his fitness, as he has been excluded from Panathinaikos’ matchday squad to take on Aris Thessaloniki in the Greek Cup today.

The club have not confirmed that he is injured though. It is also possible that it is a precautionary move to keep him fresh due to his injury battles in the past year.

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will also have his eyes on the former Rangers man ahead of the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Tanzania.

Paul Onuachu Injury Update

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has been sidelined with a muscle injury since October 15, when he sustained an injury in a UEFA Conference League game against KuPs.

He has missed three games since then. Those were games against Besiktas, Hearts, and Rizespor. But the club has fared well in his absence, as they won all three of the games that he was absent for.

Now, fresh reports suggest that the big 32-year-old striker is close to returning to action. He has started training again at the club, and he could even play for them against Gaziantep in the Turkish Super Lig this weekend.
