Super Eagles coach on the brink of relegation following Remo Stars loss to Barau

Super Eagles coach Daniel Ogunmodede has found himself in troubled waters at Remo Stars following their loss to Burau this evening, Afrik Foot reports.

The 45-year-old led the Sky Blue Stars to a historic high last term, winning their maiden league trophy after coming close in previous attempts.

The triumph opened doors for Continental Football, but also doors for their standout players to seek greener pastures abroad, and that move has proved detrimental to the squad.

Remo Stars on the brink of relegation following Barau loss

After a run of seven games without a win, Daniel Ogunmodede’s side sealed 13 points from their last six games.

After taking the lead via Hadi Haruna, Remo Stars surrendered their victory to Burau, with goals from Joseph Atule and Joseph Kermin sealing all three points from Rabiu Tata’s side.

With four games left to play, Remo Stars are currently 18th on the NPFL table, with 40 points, the same as El-Kanemi Warriors, Wikki Tourists, and Bayelsa United.

This means the defending Champions have to win at least three of their next four games to secure safety.

The four remaining games will be against Niger Tornadoes, Enyimba International, Bayelsa United, and Bendel Insurance.

The NPFL, largely, poses it’s consequences through tiny margins. Remo Stars, who are on the brink of relegation, have won 12 league games, while the League leaders, Rivers United, have won 16.
