Super Eagles and Seviilla striker Akor Adams has played up the impact of former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela in the club’s setup, Afrik Foot reports.
Lamela played for AS Roma, Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla at the pinnacle of his career, winning the UEFA Europa League with the Spanish side and the famous Puskas award with Spurs.
The 34-year-old retired last summer and has been working with Matias Almeyda as Sevilla’s assistant manager since then.

Akor Adams cites Lamela’s importance in Sevilla’s setup
In quotes revealed by Estadio Deportivo, the Nigerian forward revealed how Lamela’s tiny details have helped him to become a better striker.
“Yes, I’m trying to improve every aspect of my game. In modern football, the striker is more important to the team’s build-up play than before.
“So, I’m trying to improve. Matías and Coco (Lamela) are helping me a lot to learn some of these details. It’s going well,” the former Montpellier striker said.

“Score more goals? I’m joking. Helping my team, taking the pressure off them, helping with the high press.
“These are aspects of the game I’m improving on. I think it will be good between now and the end of the season.
“I think my confidence was already good, but playing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria was a great privilege, something I’m very grateful for.
“I was able to play every match and experience the whole thing. It’s a shame we couldn’t win the tournament, but it was a very important step in my career.
“There’s a lot of confidence in Seville. I feel it from the club, the sporting director, and the coach. It’s very positive.
“I try to work hard every day, not only to fulfill my obligations to the team, but also to fulfill my own goals and objectives. Having that confidence in me is something I’m grateful for,” Akor Adams concluded.
