The Super Eagles will return to action in June for matches against Poland and Portugal before featuring in the Unity Cup, Afrik-Foot reports.
Coach Eric Chelle will be quite busy compiling his squad lists for both sets of games. While the regulars will definitely make the cut, the Franco-Malian tactician recently stated that he would also entertain some new names.
These games present an opportunity for Chelle to test some Super Eagles stars who have been out of the fold for a while. Many of them are making a strong case for themselves as the season draws to a close.
In this piece, Afrik-Foot highlights four Super Eagles stars whose performances on Saturday likely turned Chelle’s head.
1. Sadiq Umar

Sadiq Umar was the unsung hero for Valencia when they welcomed fellow relegation-fighters Girona to the Mestalla.
He scored the second goal to help Los Che claim a 2-1 win and climb five points above the relegation zone after 33 games.
It was his second consecutive goal for Valencia, as he also scored last week in a 1-1 draw at Mallorca. As it stands, Sadiq is one of the Super Eagles stars in peak form.
With his recent performances, he will be hoping to earn a call-up from Chelle.
2. Nathan Tella

Bayer Leverkusen’s Nathan Tella has become a regular since returning from injury. Apparently, the coaching staff sees him as a key player and has given him consistent playing time.
On Saturday, he proved his quality again, providing the assist for Patrik Schick’s second goal in the second half. Aside from his assist, it was a high-level performance from the 26-year-old winger.
He registered two goal attempts, 37 touches, one dribble, two key passes, and an 88 percent pass accuracy.
3. Alhassan Yusuf

The Super Eagles star featured prominently for New England Revolution when they took on Inter Miami at the Nu Stadium on Sunday morning.
Alhassan Yusuf and his side faced the tough job of keeping Lionel Messi at bay, and he did a solid job as they earned a 1-1 draw.
Yusuf recorded one key pass, but most of his work was on the defensive end. He had 65 touches, 13 carries, five interceptions, seven ball recoveries, and 11 total defensive contributions.
4. David Moses
The 22-year-old Slavia Prague midfielder has never been called up to the Super Eagles, but there have been calls for him to be included by virtue of his club performances.
Moses produced another brilliant performance for his club when they welcomed Sigma Olomouc to Fortuna Arena. He scored the winning goal in their 2-1 comeback win.
He was one of the best performers of the day, earning an impressive 8.3 rating from Sofascore. He registered 91 percent pass accuracy, two shots, three successful dribbles, seven defensive contributions, and nine recoveries.
With his impressive club form, he must surely be eyeing a place in Eric Chelle’s team.
