Reports from Italy indicate that Serie A side Torino are interested in signing Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

The Turin-based club are preparing for the departure of Serbia international Vanja Milinković-Savić, and have identified the Nigerian international as a potential replacement.

Torino are the second Italian club to express interest in Okoye in recent weeks.

Earlier this month, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Inter Milan were seeking a reliable understudy for first-choice goalkeeper Yann Sommer, and the Nigeria international is one of three candidates being considered for the role.

On August 24, 2023, Okoye signed with Serie A club Udinese for an undisclosed fee, transferring from English club Watford.

The 24-year-old Okoye made 21 appearances for Udinese last season, conceding 25 goals and keeping five clean sheets. He was also featured in the Serie A Team of the Week on two occasions.

Udinese not budging on €12 million Maduka Okoye asking price

Udinese has set a €12 million asking price for their goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, as interest in the Nigerian shot-stopper intensifies.

Torino, as per Mondoudinese have recently emerged as a keen suitor, making them the second Italian club to express interest in Okoye in recent weeks, following Inter Milan.

Both clubs are evaluating their options and considering if they can meet Udinese's valuation to secure the talented goalkeeper.

As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen if either Torino or Inter Milan will meet Udinese's asking price and secure Okoye's services.

The fomer Sparta Rotterdam netminder recently returned to the Super Eagles for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin. However, he was an unused substitute in both matches, with Stanley Nwabali manning the posts.

Since his debut in 2019 in a friendly against Brazil, the 24-year-old has represented the Super Eagles on 16 occasions.
