Looking for answers about Super Eagles’ next match, including their opponent, date, and kickoff time?
We've got you covered. Here’s everything you need to know about Nigeria’s upcoming fixture.
Who are the Super Eagles' next opponent?
It's a packed year for the Super Eagles, with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations set to take place in Morocco. However, before turning their attention to continental glory, the three-time AFCON champions will first focus on securing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria currently sit fifth in their six-team World Cup qualifying group, having picked up just three points from four matches. They trail group leaders Rwanda, as well as South Africa, Benin, and Lesotho, while Zimbabwe sit at the bottom of the standings.
Up next for Nigeria is a crucial clash against Rwanda as the Super Eagles continue their push for World Cup qualification.
When is Nigeria next match?
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be back to action in the next international window in March 2025.
The Eric Chelle-led side will take on Rwanda in Kigali on March 21, 2025, as the World Cup qualifiers resume, before returning to Nigeria to face Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on March 25, 2025.

Nigeria vs Rwanda Head-to-Head
Historically, Nigeria have faced Rwanda seven times, though one of those encounters took place in the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Surprisingly, the three-time African champions have struggled against their next opponent, winning just two of their seven meetings. The remaining encounters have ended in four draws and one Rwandan victory, with their most recent clash taking place in November 2024.
That match, played in Uyo, wrapped up the qualifying campaign for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Nigeria had already secured their spot and fielded a rotated squad, and so Rwanda mounted a comeback to win 2-1. However, despite that triumph over the next Super Eagles opponent, Rwanda ultimately fell short of AFCON qualification in Morocco.
Nigeria FIFA World Cup qualifying schedule, results
The Super Eagles were drawn in Group C alongside South Africa, Rwanda, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Benin.
Nigeria started their campaign with a draw against Lesotho, followed by another stalemate with Zimbabwe.
They then drew South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, while Benin handed them their first defeat in the World Cup qualifiers after coming from behind to win 2-1 at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
With six more games left to play in the qualifying rounds, the Super Eagles will need all the points they can get.
This is because only one team will secure an automatic 2026 FIFA World Cup spot, while the second-placed team will have to go through a playoff stage for a chance to qualify.
