Newly promoted English Premier League club Coventry City have confirmed the signing of Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka from Brentford, Afrik-Foot reports.
Onyeka joined the club in January on a half-season loan deal. Coventry City manager Frank Lampard brought him in to boost their promotion push in the Championship, and the Nigeria midfielder delivered.
Onyeka produced some top performances, which included a winning goal against Derby County at the beginning of April.

Eventually, they finished at the top of the league, thereby gaining promotion to the English top flight.
Following their promotion, news broke that Onyeka would be joining Coventry City permanently. This was due to a clause that bound the club to make his transfer permanent if they gained promotion.
Now, the club has confirmed the transfer. In this article, Afrik-Foot looks into the details of Onyeka’s transfer.
Details of Frank Onyeka’s Coventry City Transfer
Although Coventry City and Brentford have announced the deal, both parties decided against disclosing the specific details of the transfer.

Coventry City is believed to have paid €7 million for the Super Eagles star. This is just €1 million short of his value on Transfermarkt.
The deal is set to last until 2029, with the option of a one-year extension. This means that Onyeka, who turns 29 next January, could be at Coventry until he is 32.
Onyeka will be hoping that throughout his stay at the club, they will be playing Premier League football.

The Super Eagles star is also expected to be placed on a salary of €12,666 net weekly. This equates to almost €660,000 per year.
Onyeka will be looking to play a key role for the Sky Blues next season. He is one of the players with significant Premier League experience, so he is expected to get a lot of minutes. And of course, Lampard admires him a lot.
