Following a lull, the Victor Boniface transfer is now set to be completed.
The Nigeria international has been courted all summer by Italian giants AC Milan, but the Rossoneri previously appeared unable to finance the terms of the deal. Reports then linked them to compatriot Tolu Arokodare, as well as Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson and Juventus reject Dusan Vlahovic as alternative options.
Latest reports indicate that Milan have now reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the Boniface transfer: a loan for a fee of €5 million, with a €24 million option to buy. As part of the agreement, the striker has also agreed a two-year contract extension with the Bundesliga side, taking him to 2030.

Despite checking himself into the Marbella Football Centre over the summer in a bid to improve his fitness, Boniface has been used sparingly so far this campaign under new boss Erik ten Hag.

The club explained his absences by suggesting he had overtrained during his holidays, but this latest development suggests they were instead trying to protect his fitness in order to not jeopardise a possible transfer down the line.
Since joining Leverkusen in 2023, Boniface has scored 32 goals in 61 appearances, and won the league and cup double in 2024.
