Victor Osimhen: Barcelona only willing to spend ₦160 billion on Super Eagles striker

Galatasaray have a decision to make regarding striker Victor Osimhen, as Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have set €100 million as the maximum they are willing to pay in their pursuit of a new forward, Afrik-Foot reports.

Osimhen has been linked with a blockbuster transfer to La Liga in recent months. The Nigerian striker has been one of the best in the world, leading to rumors that Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid are looking to sign him to reinforce their front lines.

Camp Nou has emerged as a likely destination, as the Catalans are looking to move on from Robert Lewandowski and sign a long-term replacement.

However, it won’t be an easy deal; Galatasaray will likely demand a substantial fee, having just paid €75 million for his services last summer.

There have been reports that the Cimbom could demand as much as €150 million for the 27-year-old striker, though nothing concrete has emerged yet.

In the meantime, Barcelona have made their stance clear on exactly how much they plan to spend on a striker this summer.

€100 million and Nothing More For Victor Osimhen

Aside from Victor Osimhen, the Blaugrana have also been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez.

But ahead of the summer, they have made it known that they won’t spend anything more than €100 million (₦160 billion) on a striker, according to reports from Reshad Rahman.

The Blaugrana have been walking a financial tightrope for the last five years, which has heavily restricted their spending.

This summer, they are also looking to bring in defensive reinforcements, meaning their budget will be strictly regulated.

Realistically, this is a deal Galatasaray could consider because the financial implications of keeping Osimhen have been significant for them. However, their sentiments towards the Nigerian would affect their decision.

Getting €100 million in the bank for a player they paid €75 million for just last summer would definitely be an offer worth considering.
