Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has extended his benevolence to a young fan who imitated his mask-wearing appearance in a viral video by gifting him ₦2.5 million.
Earlier this week, a young fan caught the attention of netizens when he was captured wearing a Nigerian jersey with Osimhen’s number on the back.
The boy also wore a black mask, similar to the Napoli striker's appearance whenever he steps on the pitch, while holding a ball.

The viral video was shared by popular Nigerian blogger Tunde Enut, who tagged the footballer on Instagram. As fate would have it, Osimhen saw the viral video and asked for the boy to be found.

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, February 27, Tunde Enut gave an update, saying the boy in the viral video has been found in Ivory Coast.
According to him, Osimhen reached out and asked for the account details of the boy in order to appreciate his endearing gesture.
“Earlier today, I randomly posted about this little man who dressed like Victor Osimhen. Victor Osimhen saw the video and asked me to find the boy for him,” the blogger wrote.
“I called Victor Osimhen and he asked for the little boy’s account details. He just wants to bless the little boy for dressing like him.”
The latest update, according to Tunde Enut, is that Osimhen has gifted the boy N2.5 million in cash after finally locating him.
“Awwwwww! This is the family of the Little man who dressed like Victor Osimhen and received N2,500,000 cash from Victor Osimhen. They are thanking Victor Osimhen for the cash gift. Thank you Victor Osimhen,” Tunde Ednut wrote, accompanied by a video of the boy and his parents thanking the Napoli star.
Transfer speculations surround Osimhen’s future
Meanwhile, Osimhen continues to court attention from the media over his future despite signing a new contract at Napoli last December.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away in the summer, with the Serie A side strategically inserting a €130 million buyout clause into his contract.

Chelsea, PSG, Arsenal and some Saudi clubs have been mooted among the suitors keeping a keen eye on the Nigerian striker, who has already stated that he knows where he will play next season.
Also, recent comments by Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong have lent credence to rumours that Osimhen could leave Napoli in the summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports Live on the striker’s long-standing transfer saga, the defender said: “Where will Osimhen play next year? I can't say anything, but I know.”
Osimhen has started each of Napoli’s last two matches against Barcelona and Cagliari since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2024), while also scoring in both matches.
The 25-year-old has been involved in 10 goals and six assists in 20 matches in all competitions this season.
