Victor Osimhen demands wages that would see him become Premier League’s highest earner

Victor Osimhen’s ongoing transfer saga has taken another twist, with the Super Eagles striker reportedly demanding a staggering £500,000 per week from potential suitors. The Napoli forward, who has been linked with several of Europe’s top clubs, remains on the books at the Italian side despite intense speculation throughout the summer.

The 25-year-old Nigerian has drawn interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and even Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. However, talks have primarily been just that—talks. This summer, the race for Osimhen’s signature appears to have narrowed down to just three clubs: Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Chelsea football club.

While PSG were initially believed to be leading the chase, discussions reportedly cooled after the French champions failed to reach an agreement with Napoli, who are holding out for a fee in excess of £120 million. Now, with Arsenal and Chelsea seemingly in the driving seat, negotiations have hit another roadblock—Osimhen’s hefty wage demands.

Osimhen's wage demands could hinder Premier League move

According to reports from SunSport on Saturday, the Nigerian striker is seeking a weekly wage of £500,000, a figure that has left both Arsenal and Chelsea hesitant. If Osimhen's demands are met, it would make him the highest-paid player in the history of the Premier League, surpassing Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, who currently earns £400,000 per week.

With just five days remaining until the transfer window closes, time is running out for Osimhen and his representatives to strike a deal. As it stands, the forward’s future remains uncertain, and it remains to be seen if any club will meet both Napoli’s asking price and the player's lofty wage demands.
