Victor Osimhen is worth his weight in gold and his value is more than the dozens of goals he has scored for Galatasaray since joining the club in 2024.
The Super Eagles striker has helped the Turkish champions turn his popularity into a major commercial opportunity.
Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has announced that the club generated a record €480 million in consolidated revenue for the 2025-2026 season. The club also reported €120 million in net turnover from its GSStore retail operations over the 12 months to February 2026.
It is new heights that would have taken Galatasaray another ten years to reach if not for the arrival of a certain Nigerian forward in Istanbul.
Here are three ways Osimhen helped Galatasaray cash in on his popularity.

1. Victor Osimhen drives record merchandise sales
Victor Osimhen’s popularity helped Galatasaray turn replica shirts into a lucrative source of income.
In November 2025, the club sold almost 90,000 retro jerseys in just three days after relaunching the striped shirt associated with its 1999-2000 UEFA Cup triumph.
Osimhen, who is now a major threat to Barcelona, modelled the retro kit, which generated more than 200 million Turkish lira, approximately €5 million.
Clearly, while he was banging in the goals on the pitch, the Super Eagles striker was also doing his bits to help Galatasaray connect its historic European success with a new generation of supporters.
The money has not stopped flowing into Galatasaray’s coffees since then.

2. Special Victor Osimhen boxes generate millions
Galatasaray also turned Victor Osimhen’s trademark protective mask into a premium collector’s item.
The club launched the Solo Il Gala Osimhen Box after completing his permanent transfer from Napoli for €75 million in July 2025. Each box contained an exclusive numbered jersey, a replica of his mask and a commemorative scarf.
Within days, 20,000 pre-orders had reportedly generated about €4.2 million in revenue. Fans wanted a piece of the Nigerian forward, who had chosen Galatasaray over the lure of Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
That initiative gave supporters a chance to own merchandise linked to their favourite player while creating another revenue stream for the club.

Osimhen boosts commercial and hospitality income
Galatasaray also used the excitement surrounding Osimhen to attract digital audiences, advertisers and premium matchday customers.
When the striker travelled to Istanbul ahead of his permanent move, the club streamed his flight through its digital platforms. The broadcast reportedly attracted more than two million live viewers, added 50,000 YouTube subscribers and generated approximately €431,000 on its first day.
Many fans just could not believe that the most valuable African centre-forward in world football was actually making Galatasaray’s side of Istanbul his permanent home. Except they watched it happen with their own eyes, of course.
Turkish media also reported that Galatasaray generated €15 million through a combination of special-box sales and increased prices for selected VIP hospitality boxes. Three advertising agreements were reportedly arranged to cover his €6 million image-rights fee.
Galatasaray are clearly reaping the benefit of their massive investment on and off the pitch. And without a doubt, Osimhen, who again delivered a brilliant cameo vs Kasimpasa, has played a significant part in the successes now being recorded.
