Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is set to play a key role in keeping Argentine striker Mauro Icardi at the club, Afrik Foot reports.
The former Paris Saint-Germain striker joined Okan Buruk’s side on loan in 2022, before joining permanently for €10m the following year.
Since then, Icardi has scored 77 goals and provided 25 assists in 133 games for Galatasaray, winning four league titles and the Golden Boot award in 2024.

Icardi’s Galatasaray demands involves Victor Osimhen
Mauro Icardi’s contract at RAMS Park runs out this summer, and he’s been linked with a move to Juventus, who are set to part ways with Dusan Vlahovic next month.
However, the Argentine is open to staying at Istanbul and has laid down his demands to the club, demanding a two-year contract.

As per Sozcu, the former Inter Milan striker has received his first proposal from the Galatasaray hierarchy, detailing a €5m annual salary, €2.5m less than he currently earns, alongside a one-year contract with the option to extend for a further season.
However, Icardi has different demands. The financial offer from Galatasaray isn’t a problem, but the striker wants a two-year contract up front.
Alongside, he wants the promise of consistently playing in the starting eleven, in a two-man attack alongside Victor Osimhen. As revealed in the report, Galatasaray have been made aware of Icardi’s demands and will issue a response when due.
