Victor Osimhen to Real Madrid? Ex-Arsenal man names Nigeria star among world’s best

Former Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has placed Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen among the three best players in world football, Afrik-Foot reports.

Torreira, who is currently teammates with Osimhen at Galatasaray, named the Super Eagles forward alongside Kylian Mbappé and Federico Valverde as the standout performers in the game today.

“Federico Valverde, Kylian Mbappe, and Victor Osimhen are currently the world’s best footballers,” Lucas Torreira said as per MK News Turkey.

The Uruguay international’s comments come at a time when Osimhen is enjoying another strong season with Galatasaray.

According to reports, Osimhen could join Mbappé and Valverde at Real Madrid next season with the Spanish giants considering moving for the former Napoli star.

What could take Victor Osimhen to Real Madrid?

Interest from Real Madrid has grown steadily, with the Spanish giants believed to be monitoring Osimhen as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the summer transfer window.

One major factor that could make the move possible is tactical balance. Signing a natural number nine like Osimhen would allow Mbappé to return to his preferred role on the left wing, where he is often at his most dangerous. This adjustment could improve Madrid’s overall attacking structure.

Financially, a deal is also within reach if Madrid choose to reshape their squad. Reports suggest the club could raise significant funds through a major sale, potentially involving Vinícius Júnior. Such a move would give them enough flexibility to meet Osimhen’s transfer fee.

There is also a long-term need for a central striker. Since the departure of Karim Benzema, Madrid have lacked a consistent, traditional number nine. Osimhen fits that profile and could become the focal point of their attack for years to come.

Strong interest from across EuropeReal Madrid are not alone in the race. Several top clubs are closely following Osimhen’s situation ahead of the summer window.

Arsenal are widely seen as serious contenders, with manager Mikel Arteta reportedly viewing Osimhen as the missing piece in a title-challenging squad.

Manchester United are also keen, with new boss Ruben Amorim believed to have made the Nigerian striker a top priority. The club could explore creative deals to make the transfer happen.

In France, Paris Saint-Germain are ready to compete financially, offering an attractive package that could tempt Osimhen. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona are monitoring him as a possible long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, although their financial situation may complicate any move.

German champions Bayern Munich have also shown interest, seeing Osimhen as a future successor to Harry Kane. Chelsea remain long-time admirers, even though previous attempts have been affected by financial constraints.

Osimhen’s transfer value is now believed to be between €75m and €80m for clubs outside Italy, a figure that makes him more accessible than before. However, Galatasaray are keen to keep him and have indicated they want to build their project around him.
