Osimhen rallies troops ahead of title shoot-out vs Mourinho’s Fenerbahce

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has issued a rallying call to his teammates as they prepare to face Alanyaspor in the Süper Lig on Sunday.

Galatasaray sits at the top of the Turkish league table with 65 points, four ahead of their closest rivals, Fenerbahçe.

However, it has not been the best of weeks for Gala. They were eliminated from the Europa League by Dutch side AZ Alkmaar and followed that with two consecutive draws—0-0 at home against Fenerbahçe and 3-3 away at Kasimpasa.

Osimhen has been instrumental for the Istanbul side this season, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists in 20 games as they push for the league title.

With Fenerbahçe breathing down their necks, the 26-year-old Nigerian has urged his teammates to stay focused and keep fighting for the championship.

“I love this team very much. I want to do everything to succeed and support the team,” Osimhen said.

“My teammates have the same mentality. It doesn't matter whether you're in the starting 11 or on the bench, it's very important that everyone fights together.

“We feel a sense of unity with our coach and our fans.”

“At the end of the day, we are fighting to win. From now on, we will go out to every match to get three points, and we are the biggest candidate for the championship,” he added.

While Galatasaray aim to defend their title, Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe are pushing hard in their bid to win their first league trophy in a decade.

Galatasaray remain unbeaten this season, but their inconsistent form—just six wins in their last 16 matches—has allowed Fenerbahçe to close the gap at the top.

Osimhen missed the first meeting with Alanyaspor due to injury last June, but he will be eager to make an impact this time as he looks to increase his goal tally and guide his team to victory.
