After an interminable negotiation, the Victor Osimhen transfer has been completed. He will be a Galatasaray player permanently.
The Nigeria international has been at the centre of a protracted transfer saga, with the reigning Turkish champions locked in talks with Napoli for weeks in pursuit of an agreement. While there was interest from sides in the Premier League, it quickly emerged that the likeliest resolution was a return to Istanbul, where the striker captured hearts and minds in a record-breaking 2024/25 campaign.
That resolution has finally arrived, but not without a lot of compromise on both sides of the table. Here is every clause, as far as we know, that made the Victor Osimhen transfer a possibility.

What clauses did Galatasaray accept to secure Victor Osimhen transfer?
Part payment
That Galatasaray do not have €75 million lying around to pay out at once was never a secret. That release clause, open only to non-Italian clubs, was a non-negotiable as far as Napoli were concerned, and so a number of solutions were mooted within the corridors of Cim Bom, from leveraging commercial sponsorships to using bank guarantees.
Eventually, both sides reached a compromise to make the Osimhen transfer happen. Galatasaray will pay €40 million now, and then €35 million in a year’s time. Of course, the Turkish side submitted documents proving their financial capacity, but it is important to note that, typically, release clauses are paid in full; Napoli have made a major concession in this case to grant the player’s wish.

No Italian clubs sell-on for 2 years
Another means by which it was suggested that Galatasaray would finance the Osimhen transfer was by being a proxy for Juventus.
The Serie A giants have held a long-standing interest in the striker, but found negotiations with Napoli difficult. As such, it is believed that they would have been willing to front the Turkish champions the money to complete the transfer, in exchange for buying Osimhen at a knockdown price down the line, probably in a year’s time.

Whether or not this was in fact the case, Napoli certainly thought it was a possibility, and so have included this clause to protect their own wish to not strengthen a rival.
Cut of future profit
While relations with the player had broken down completely, Napoli are not naive. They are aware that Osimhen remains a quality operator, and that if he equals or exceeds his output from last season, bigger clubs could decide to simply bite the bullet and pay a huge fee to pull him to a top five league.
In order to not shut themselves out of any such deal down the line, they insisted on a percentage of profit on any future transfers. If Galatasaray sell Osimhen at any point for a fee greater than €75 million, the Serie A champions will get 10 percent of the profit on it.

If, say, Gala accept a bid of €100 million for an Osimhen transfer down the line, Napoli would be due €2.5 million.
Goal bonus
Yet another clause that indicates Napoli know what they have. Osimhen was devastating on loan last season, in many ways demonstrating that the Turkish top flight is beneath him. That he will repeat his heroics in 2025/26 is almost certain.
In order to benefit from this, Napoli set it up so that, if the 26-year-old hits a particular goalscoring milestone, they are entitled to an additional fee. The figures on this one have yet to be revealed.
