Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has emerged as Manchester United’s dream attacking target this summer, Afrik Foot reports.
The 27-year-old recently revealed he’s happy at Galatasaray, but kept his future open, claiming anything could happen.
It appears that the statement has now rekindled interest from Old Trafford as Manchester United are looking to build a squad capable of competing across all fronts next season, considering their return to the UEFA Champions League.
Benjamin Šeško arrived at the Theatre of Dreams from RB Leipzig last summer in a deal worth around €85 million and largely justified the investment, but the Red Devils believe the Slovenian needs a high-calibre partner to both compete with and complement him in Michael Carrick’s system.

Despite United’s interest, Galatasaray’s president, Dursun Özbek, has repeatedly insisted that no offer for the former Napoli striker will be entertained this summer.
Victor Osimhen’s position on Manchester United’s striker shortlist
As per Caught Offside, Osimhen is the dream striker who would instantly elevate United’s attacking threat, but his price tag makes him the most complicated option on a list that includes several more accessible alternatives.
Jean-Philippe Mateta represents the practical choice. The Crystal Palace striker brings Premier League experience, physicality and the kind of consistent goal return that a mid-table club can rely on, but a dry spell in the second half of last season has raised concerns.

Dusan Vlahovic and young French forward Eli Junior Kroupi are also on the radar as long-term investments.
Robert Lewandowski, who’s currently a free agent, is being considered as a short-term option to offer some form of mentorship to Šeško rather than coming to score goals at the age of 37.
Osimhen has long been aware of Premier League interest, and has never hidden his desire to one day test himself in English football.

The question is whether Galatasaray’s resolve can be broken by an offer significant enough to change even Özbek’s public stance, and while United are one of the few clubs in world football with the financial ability to do so, other positions like the midfield, which has a gaping hole following Casemiro’s exit, need to be sorted first.
