Victor Osimhen: Native who abandoned Napoli when they were broke launches vicious attack on ‘nuisance’

Former Napoli striker Antonio Floro Flores has weighed in on Victor Osimhen’s transfer situation.

The 42-year-old, a former academy graduate and bit-part player at Napoli before leaving the club when they were in financial trouble, described the Super Eagles star as a ‘nuisance’ who has only had one good season in his career.

Osimhen, fresh off a record-breaking campaign at Galatasaray where he won a double and finished as the highest goalscorer in a single season of Turkish football, is currently mulling over offers from a number of clubs as he holidays in Nigeria.

Napoli hoping to nudge ‘mediocre’ Victor Osimhen toward Saudi Arabia

Napoli are insistent on receiving the full release clause for Osimhen, and are believed to be in favour of bids from the Middle East. Floro Flores, per quotes reported by Turkish outlet Sabah, is of the same persuasion.

“I was his manager, I'd take him to Saudi Arabia,” he said. “I don't think Osimhen has had great success, he's not a champion. He should go to Saudi Arabia. He's a nuisance.

“I'm tired of talking about a mediocre footballer, he only played well for a year. A man who left the city that made him what he is today. Even his mother didn't know him, but he still dared to remove Napoli jerseys from his Instagram profile.”

Following his departure from Napoli in 2004, Floro Flores played for the likes of Arezzo, Udinese and Sassuolo, and is currently the coach of Benevento’s under-17 team.
