Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama recently took to Instagram to share a heartfelt moment, posting a photo of his son Godswill donning Lille colours during a game.
The post, captioned with words of gratitude and pride – “God is the greatest. Home sweet home. Back home in a different skin” – suggests that Enyeama's son has joined the youth setup at Lille, Enyeama's former club.
The 41-year-old moved to the French outfit in June 2011 on a three-year deal, following four years of exhilarating performances for the Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv.
He made his Lille debut in October 2011 in a UEFA Champions League clash with Inter Milan, kicking off a successful tenure with the French outfit that concluded in August 2018 after 143 appearances for Les Dogues.
Vincent Enyeama's son set to follow father's footsteps
Godswill Enyeama is poised to continue his father's legacy in football. As a promising young goalkeeper, and given his father's recent Instagram post, there are hints of his potential involvement with Lille’s youth setup, specifically their under-18 side.
This development brings a new dimension to the Enyeama family’s storied connection with Lille, where the former Nigeria legend once excelled as a key player.
Although Vincent Enyeama no longer works with the French outfit, his influence on his son's burgeoning career is unmistakable, as can be seen in several home training videos the former Super Eagles no.1 posts on his social media feeds.
The youngster's journey is just beginning, but the echoes of his father's illustrious past are sure to inspire and guide him on his path.
