Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman held his first training session with his new club, Atletico Madrid, on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old completed his €35 million move (plus bonuses) to the Spanish capital on Monday, a deal that has dominated headlines across Spain.
While Los Rojiblancos have long been admirers of the former Everton man, the club is now banking on him to combine with their existing stars and find his spark under the tutelage of Diego Simeone.
The Super Eagles star can be deployed as a left back and also operate behind the first striker, due to his ability to crash the box.
How Did Lookman Perform in His First Training Session?
Lookman appeared sharp during Tuesday’s session and was notably seen conversing with Julian Alvarez, the former Manchester City striker who currently serves as Atleti’s talisman.
The Super Eagles star looked very comfortable in his new surroundings. He even met his former Atalanta teammate Juan Musso, and they shared some moments together.

Lookman’s conversation with Julian Alvarez does not come as a surprise, as the Argentine striker played at Manchester City and understands English really well. So they should bond in the coming weeks. Moreover, they will need to strike some chemistry quickly.q

Coach Diego Simeone is a big fan of the player, so he will surely give the Super Eagles star enough minutes. The onus is now for Lookman to prove his worth.
Atletico Madrid currently sit third in the La liga, with 45 points after 22 games. They are ten points adrift league leaders Barcelona, but they will be hoping to improve on their placement and possibly win it at the end of the season.
